To weak to make it home, the elderly human witch Gresel must be rescued lest the sandragons torture her for details about Ooliphant or the Commandant turn her charged bones into wands. Tasked by the moon goddess Moofluna, her demigod son Grog Agog and the mischievous bog goblin Tet Snailbiter play pranks and stir up trouble en route. Already on deaths doorstep, Gresel insists that they rob the dungeons for magic items to help defeat the sandragons. Riding in on a cloud, Grogs brother Torfulgar Rainmaker reveals that Ooliphant has been abandoned by its starfarer founders.
